If you're going to be in or around the Gainesville area this Summer make sure to check out the first annual REAL BIG DEAL FEST!

Back from my Girl Talk coma just in time for more Prince. The funkiest of all Prince albums the black album was released without a title or artist as a retort to Prince being considered "too commercial." Le Grind should be on every party playlist you have. If you candle handle Prince you can handle life my friends.

I wish I had more to tell you about this album suffice it to say it sounds really good. I haven't listened to it that much yet because I just heard about the band the other day on Sirius. Check it out. It's nifty.
The single is called The Step and the Walk.
For some reason the combination of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Cold War Kids comes to mind when I hear this... maybe some Jefferson Airplane thrown in?
I don't know. Just shut up and listen.

What do you really need to know about this? It's Death Cab. It sounds just like... Death Cab. Maybe a little older style Death Cab, but it's Death Cab. People need to stop hating on them just because they signed with Atlantic, they're still good.
Granted the single I Will Possess Your Heart is a little creepy when you actually think about the lyrics.
Fuck it, just listen to it.

I guess AJ uploaded this album and forgot to post it to here, so I'll do it for him.
I heard about Cloud Cult last summer, and fell in love immediately. They've had a constant spot on my playlist ever since. Their previous albums are wrought with sadness, mostly dealing with the death of the lead singer's baby son. This album starts to move away from that feeling and instills more of a feeling of hope and recovery. Regardless of the feeling, it is pretty amazing. Cloud Cult has a sound that is like no other band I have ever heard. Check it out, and make sure to check out the other albums by Cloud Cult we have posted, because while they all share something similar in them, they are all drastically different.

Here's a classic, Little Red Corvette is my mom's favorite Prince song if that means anything.
-A.J. (partying like its 1999)

I just heard this album and frankly it's pretty fucking great. It comes out in July so here's your early look at NPSH.
My equation:
Does It Offend You, Yeah? -- the super intenseness + a song about beard care = Natalie Portman's Shaved Head.

Coming out of the D.C. go go rap scene, wale is your new favorite indie rapper. Still remaining unsigned, he continues to release mixtapes online for free. His most recent release was his Seinfeld themed "mixtape about nothing." On this album Wale teams up with production god Mark Ronson, trust me its sweet.

I've collected these 8 tracks from Ratatat's soon to be released album. It's like Ratatat on crack, but it's good and you should listen. The album comes out July 8th buy it. Stay in school

Here's an EP from the Black Kids whose highly anticipated album comes out in July. This band consisting of a brother and sister team, as well as three childhood sunday school friends. After releasing their album they are set to hit to road kicking off the U.S. tour in none other than Jacksonville (I will be sure to be there). This is really catchy indie pop ( you know standard 60's pop rhythms and 80's synth) it's good, listen. Holla at cha boi

I heard someone wanted some more Neutral Milk Hotel. Here is the precursor to the indie rock masterpiece that is In the Aeroplane over the Sea, which I posted a while ago. The album is solid, with a band including Robert Schneider (who's name always makes me laugh) from The Apples in Stereo. It was only after this album was released that the whole E6 crew got together and moved to Athens. The brains behind NMH, Jeff Magnum only put out 2 albums then decided to call it quits. Neutral Milk Hotel still remains on an indefinite hiatus, but hey theres still hope.

Week 2 still goin strong. Heres a great great great one from the Purple One, Dirty Mind. On his third album Prince played just about every instrument and sexed it all up. Also i included 4 tracks from his epic Coachella show including a cover of Creep and Come Together.
Adriana is awesome

Most said this to be the new M.I.A., but i guess at this point she's the old new M.I.A. You know how those people are.
-A.J.

Great album start to finish, very weezeresque at times. So if your looking for a big rock sound then listen to this shit.
-A.J.

Long title, short album. This is a collection of earlier releases from Manchester Orchestra. You may recognize Alice and Interiors from the later released full length "I'm Like A Virgin Losing a Child."

Its finally here after weeks of leaked tracks and rumors. Thank god weezer is back to normal after the garbage that was maladroit and make believe. Crank it up and rock your face off. Cheers

Fashion Update: Cowboy hats. The new indie accessory? Discuss.

Here is the start of the weekly post where ill put up a new Prince jam. Today's Prince is the Self Titled album released in 1979, its his second album. Respect the purple one and listen.
-A.J.

This is the second album from LA indie duo The Submarines. Very happy acoustic guitar and piano driven music.
-A.J.
A.J is retarded and can't post things right, so this post has been edited by me.
-Shane

Foals album for max. If you want the bonus disc I can post it as well.
-A.J.

Hot Chip's second album, it's just as good if not better than Coming on Strong. The album speaks for itself, listen to it and impress your friends with your new favorite band.
-A.J.

This is hot chip's first album, it's very different from Hot Chip's more recent Made in the Dark which i'll post later. If you like to listen to music about rollin on 22's and chillen with Prince sung by a British electropop quintet, then this album is for you.
